Virat Kohli 'Who'?: Ronaldo says he is not 'very popular'. Watch

Ronaldo not knowing Virat Kohli is not the first instance of a non-cricketing personality failing to recognise a cricketer.

Virat Kohli may have a colossal fan following on different social media channels such as Facebook, X and Instagram, but in certain parts of the world the cricketer still remains an unknown sporting personality as was seen recently when former Brazil striker Ronaldo Nazario answered in the negative when asked about the superstar Indian cricketer.

Speaking to YouTuber Speed, Ronaldo was asked whether he knew who Kohli was and the former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker said he did not who the 35-year-old former India captain was.

Here's the transcript of the conversation:

Speed: "Do you know Virat Kohli?"

Ronaldo: "Who?"

Speed: "Virat Kohli, from India."

Ronaldo: "No."

Speed: "You don't know Virat Kohli!”

Ronaldo: "What is he? A player?"

Speed: "He is a cricket player."

Ronaldo: "He is not very popular in here."

Speed: "Yeah, yeah. he is like the best. You have never seen this dude?" (pointing to Kohli's photo)

Ronaldo: "Yeah Yeah".

"Sachin Tendulkar was the other person who came in at the same time as David. Do you know who Sachin is?" Sharapova was asked, as per tennisworldusa.org.

"I don't," she replied.

Sharapova's reply led to an uproar among Tendulkar's fans, who could not believe that the multiple-time Grand Slam winner did not know who the former India captain was.
