A video of a woman falling off a Rapido two-wheeler mid-ride while filming herself has gone viral, drawing widespread attention to passenger safety on ride-hailing bikes. Shared by Instagram user Priyanka (bhangrabypahadan), the video captures her sitting on the back of a Rapido bike, casually recording her journey, only for both her and the vehicle to topple over onto the road moments later.

The reel has garnered over 1.2 million views. In it, Priyanka provided a detailed account of the incident and her unsettling experience with the Rapido driver. "I had faith in your service, but even you broke my trust. Well, jokes apart, I am okay and went straight to the office post this incident," she wrote, adding, "This might be the first time where I felt super unsafe with the way the Rapido driver was driving."

Priyanka recounted several incidents where the driver alarmed her. She initially asked for a helmet, to which he replied there was "no need to wear it," noting he himself wasn't wearing one. She described his "super chill nature despite breaking so many traffic rules altogether" as bothering her. He was "taking the wrong side on each main road, and with those twists and turns, my heartbeat was racing even more." It was at this point that she decided to take out her phone and record.

Priyanka even questioned him about taking the wrong side of the road when the metro was on the other side, to which he responded, "mam due to the traffic I did it." She also observed him listening to music and chanting "Har Har Mahadev" at each Shiv Kanwad tent they passed.

The situation escalated suddenly when their vehicle "hit the other 2-wheeler coming from the other side right in front of the Delhi police car." Priyanka stated that since the Rapido driver was injured, the police did not take any action, and she "paid him then and there." Following the incident, she walked to the metro station.

In her post, Priyanka directly addressed Rapido, urging them to prioritise passenger safety: "With this incident, I just want to highlight @rapidoapp @rapidocaptain to hire people who are responsible rather than those nonchalant guys who ride like they have 9 lives."

Company responds to incident

As the video gained significant traction, Rapido issued a response in the comment section of Priyanka's post. "Thank you for confirming that you're fine," Rapido stated. "As per your request, we are not taking any action against the captain involved. However, if you face any similar issue in future rides, please feel free to reach out to us, we will be more than happy to assist you."
