On July 5, a sea of cricket enthusiasts flooded Mumbai to celebrate India's triumphant win in the T20 World Cup 2024. Amid the festivities, a video went viral capturing a moment where police constable Saeed Salim Pinjari was seen assisting an unconscious woman. The Mumbai Police later acknowledged his heroic act, praising him for his quick response that potentially saved her life.

In an Instagram post, Mumbai Police shared the video, stating, “PC Saeed Salim Pinjari is our real ‘Man Of The Match’ during the #VictoryParade bandobast. His first-person account, of taking care of a sea of people and assisting a woman who was spotted losing consciousness. #AlwaysOnDuty #MumbaiPolice4All.”

The video showcased Pinjari lifting the unconscious woman from the crowd. He narrated the incident, saying, “During the bandobast, my fellow constable and I noticed a lady losing consciousness. We rushed towards her, picked her up, and moved her to a place where she could breathe comfortably. We offered her water and chocolates and stayed by her side until she regained consciousness. We then took her to a nearby ambulance. It was God’s blessing and the result of our training. I am proud to be part of Mumbai Police.”

Since being shared on July 7, the video has garnered over a million views, with social media users lauding Pinjari's prompt action. One user commented, “Salute to your service,” while another wrote, “Timely action by Mumbai Police. Congratulations to PC Saeed Salim Pinjari.” Another user added, “This is the real spirit of Mumbai. Salute to the man in uniform.”

The day after the victory parade, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) collected an astounding 11,500 kg (11.5 metric tonnes) of waste along the Marine Drive stretch. The civic body reported that the waste, which included recyclable materials like shoes and slippers, was sent for reprocessing.
