Alongside the anticipated OnePlus 7 series flagship devices, OnePlus also launched Bullets Wireless 2 earphones. The new earbuds come with a slightly new design, better charging technology, and upgraded internals. The new audio device from OnePlus competes directly with AirPods second generation and Galaxy Buds.
Design
Bullets Wireless 2 has a slightly different design than its predecessor. The earbuds are much more rounded in shape, and OnePlus claims that the Bullets Wireless 2 would fit better in ears. They come with a combined glossy and matte finish at the earbuds region with the neckband having a matte design.
The most significant difference between AirPods 2, Galaxy Buds, and Bullets Wireless 2 is that the OnePlus product is not entirely wireless. It comes with a neckband that connects the two earbuds and has volume controls on it. Its competitors offer truly wireless earbuds which come with a charging case.
The Bullets Wireless 2 comes with a magnetic back that allows users to clip them together when not using them. The clipping also ensures an additional layer of grip to avoid the earbuds from falling down.
Battery Life
AirPods second generation offers five hours of battery life on an average, with the case providing an additional 24 hours of battery backup. The Galaxy Buds offer a slightly more battery life of up to six hours, but the charging case provides just seven hours of additional power.
Bullets Wireless 2 does not have a charging case. Instead, it comes with something even better — WARP Charge 30. OnePlus claims that with the new fast-charging technology, Bullets Wireless 2 can be charged within 10 minutes to get a power backup for up to 10 hours. With the full charge, the Bullets Wireless 2 can last for nearly 14 hours. It beats not only the AirPods 2 and Galaxy Buds but also its predecessor which had an average battery life of eight hours.
Pairing
Bullets Wireless 2 come with Bluetooth 5.0. It features ‘Quick Pair’ that mainly connects the audio device to a OnePlus 7 Pro or other OnePlus devices instantly. AirPods 2 comes with a dedicated H1 chip that connects it to an Apple device quickly. The Galaxy Buds also shares a similar feature wherein opening the charging case’s lid prompts a ‘Connect’ option first.
Price
This is where the Bullets Wireless 2 take the lead. The upgraded OnePlus audio device has been launched in India for Rs 5,990. AirPods 2, on the other hand, cost almost thrice the amount with a wireless charging case. The Galaxy Buds have been launched in India for Rs 9,990.
If you are someone who does not care about going to the settings app and manually connecting their audio device every time they switch it on, then Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless, Bose SoundSport Wireless Earbuds are some great options that cost a premium of nearly Rs 20,000.
The Beats PowerBeats Pro which was launched last month in the US could make its way to India. It offers more features than AirPods second generation but costs $90 more.
