A 22-year-old woman in Florida went on a terrifying shooting spree along an interstate, claiming that “God” asked her to do so during the solar eclipse, authorities revealed.
Taylon Nichelle Celestine, the alleged assailant, left her lodging in Holmes County on Monday with a chilling proclamation to motel staff: she asserted that she was instructed by “God” to unleash chaos despite Florida not falling under the path of the celestial event.
Operating a purple Dodge Challenger bearing Georgia plates, Celestine merged onto Interstate 10 at the 112-mile marker and commenced firing at unsuspecting motorists within a mere five-mile span of joining the highway in Washington County, recounted the Florida Highway Patrol.
Eyewitnesses described the horrifying scene as Celestine purportedly targeted passing vehicles on the interstate, unleashing a barrage of gunfire. One male driver fell victim to the senseless assault, sustaining a bullet graze to his arm and enduring the piercing shatter of his window by a stray round, divulged authorities. Subsequently, he veered onto the shoulder of the highway while Celestine continued her reckless trajectory unabated.
Armed with both an assault rifle and a handgun, she then turned her aim to a second vehicle in the vicinity. The driver of this vehicle suffered a gunshot wound to the neck before being transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The pursuit of the assailant continued for a while and highway patrol troopers intercepted her Challenger, forcibly bringing her reckless spree to a halt. Law enforcement officers seized an AR-15 rifle and a 9mm handgun from the vehicle.

Without resistance, Celestine was taken into custody and remanded to Holmes County Jail, where she faces a litany of charges including attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and improper discharge of a firearm.
