After Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Salman Khan and Malayalam actor Rima Kallingal, Sunny Leone is the latest actor to enter the NFT, or non-fungible token, space. The actor’s NFT collection, titled “Misfitz”, has 9,600 NFTs that are “completely unique, minted on the ethereum blockchain”, her website says. The digital pieces have been “sold and minted”, NFT platform Mintdropz tweeted.

“MEET the MISFTIZ! This is misfitz HONEY! She loves the color pink…boys with tattoos…and then eats them for lunch. What the world has been waiting for!!! #SUNNYLEONENFT collectibles,” Leone tweeted last week.

An NFT is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore, not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to represent items such as photos, videos, audio, and other types of digital files.

NFTs have taken the digital space by storm, especially in the post-pandemic world, and several key personalities across the globe have jumped the bandwagon.

In India, superstar Salman Khan recently announced the launch of his NFTs on marketplace BollyCoin.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan's NFT collection of artwork, which went live on Monday, received bids worth $5,20,000 (about Rs 3.8 crore) on the first day of auction. The 79-year-old's collection includes a recording of his father’s iconic poem “Madhushala”, in Bachchan’s baritone, vintage, hand-painted rare film posters signed by the actor and also digitised signed posters, among others. Buyers can also own videos of Amitabh Bachchan signing original poster of his iconic movies such as “Sholay”, “Deewar”, “Silsila" and “Kabhie Kabhie”.

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra too launched five NFTs of digital sketches of his creations. All five have been sold, with each going for 1 $1,908.8 to $3,579.
