Amid the swirl of speculations surrounding the sudden postponement of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding, a young woman unexpectedly caught in the crossfire has stepped forward with a heartfelt clarification.

The girl whose private chats with Palash went viral says she never intended to be dragged into the controversy — and is now pleading with people to stop targeting her.

Before switching her social media account to private, she explained that she was the one who originally shared the screenshots, but only because she felt the truth should be known.

The messages, she clarified, are months old, dating back to May–July 2025, and have no connection whatsoever to the current situation surrounding the high-profile wedding.

“I never wanted my identity revealed” She said.

In an emotional post, she wrote, “I am the same person who posted the chats. I never wanted my identity revealed. The chats were from May–July 2025 and lasted only a month. I never met him or got involved with him. I only exposed him because I love cricket, I adore Smriti Mandhana, and I felt people should know.”

She also addressed a rumour that has spread rapidly online — that she is the choreographer allegedly linked to the wedding drama. She categorically denied it, “I’m not the choreographer, nor the person he cheated with.”

What she didn’t expect was the intense online backlash. As trolls flooded her account with assumptions and blame, she felt overwhelmed and forced to make her profile private.

“I didn’t expect this backlash and had to make my account private. In the chats, it’s clear I wasn’t at fault — I was the one who ghosted him,” she mentioned.

The barrage of negativity has taken an emotional toll on her.

“Please don’t target me; I genuinely can’t handle it. I never wanted any of this.” She added.

Her final plea was simple and sincere: “I would never do anything wrong to any woman, whether she is famous or not… I truly did not think I would have to go through this.”

Her name Mary D’Costa got viral online after some reports, including Filmibeat, suggested she might be the choreographer involved in the wedding performances.

Her name spread after alleged screenshots from Palash’s chats circulated, where he reportedly described his relationship with Smriti as “almost dead” and “long-distance.” Mary, in those messages, allegedly questioned him about the wedding.

However, these details remain unverified, and neither family has commented on them.
