Private equity firm Brynwood Partners is considering selling Hometown Food Company, maker of Pillsbury and Birch Benders, with a potential valuation of $800 million.
The company is also looking to expand its sales and distribution network in the Northern and Western states, besides increasing its sales in rural areas.
The company in a filing to the BSE said that its board has approved raising "USD 45 million (about Rs 301.5 crore)" through preferential issue of equity-linked securities to Black River Food 2 Pte Ltd.
