Tesla officially entered India’s rapidly growing automobile market on July 15 with the launch of its electric midsize SUV, the Tesla Model Y. The vehicle is priced starting at nearly Rs 60 lakh and is currently the only model available in the country.

The Model Y comes in two variants: the Rear-Wheel Drive priced at Rs 60 lakh and the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD) priced at Rs 68 lakh. Buyers also have the option to add Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) package for an additional Rs 6 lakh.
The SUV is offered in six colour options, with Stealth Grey available at no extra cost. Other colours like Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue come with additional charges. Inside, customers can choose between white and black interior themes, and the vehicle features a five-seat layout.

Currently, Tesla Model Y deliveries and registrations are available only in Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, with prices varying based on state taxes. Deliveries are expected to start in the third quarter of 2025.
