In an effort to draw in more students and boost enrolment, a government school in the Karimnagar district of Telangana has implemented a novel train-themed concept.

By painting its walls to resemble train carriages, Zilla Parishad High School in Rudraram hamlet gives the impression that students are travelling and getting on a train rather than walking into a classroom.

Several parents and students have responded well to the initiative, which features windows and train-like embellishments on the walls.

"We were thinking of a new way to attract students to school. We thought of a different approach. We got this idea of a train concept and found it very interesting. The students are very much attracted to this, and the parents are also very happy to send their children to the school. The enrolment also improved a lot with this concept. The students are coming and enjoying. Different circular activities have also been organised, which is making the students happy," ANI quoted a teacher as saying.

The principal, Ravinder Reddy, is hopeful that the school will see an increased number of enrolments in the upcoming academic year after the initiative that has caught the attention of several parents and students. "After painting this school with a train theme, many students who are going to private school are now planning to join our school, and also parents are showing interest in sending their children to our government school,” the principal told PTI.

Another teacher, Mohammad Arif Hussain, noted the enthusiasm among students. "The children here are very disciplined. The train theme given to the classrooms here makes it feel like we are travelling on a train. The children are also excited to see this. We are working towards the overall development of all students," he said.

According to the school administration, students have benefitted from the creative theme, which has increased student interest in learning.

A 10th-grade student, Vaishnavi, talked about how she is now eager to go to school every day because of the new classroom setting. "We are excited to go to school right now. It's an entertaining and interesting experience," she remarked.

In a similar vein, a sixth-grade student shared her enthusiasm by stating, "Seeing the train on the walls makes me extremely happy. When I get to school, it's like getting on a train."
