Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress ruling alliance in Dhanbad, terming it as 'corrupt' and 'dynastic government'.

Modi, who was on a visit to Jharkhand on March 1, said that the situation of the state has deteriorated since the day JMM-Congress' 'corrupt, dynastic government' was formed.

"The meaning of JMM has become 'jam kar ke khao'," the Prime Minister said while addressing a rally in Dhanbad.

He further added that 'Rangdaari' (extortion) is on the rise in Jharkhand, infiltration is increasing due to appeasement. JMM, Congress leaders have only one work and that is  to fill their coffers, the Prime Minister alleged.

His comments came days after JMM leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was arrested after questioning by the ED in connection with a money laundering case.

Soren had tendered his resignation as CM to the Jharkhand Governor and Champai Soren was appointed in his place to lead the state.

Prime Minister Modi also said that the INDI alliance is anti-developmental, anti-people and it wants free ration distribution to be stopped.

He stated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to weeding out corruption in Jharkhand.

Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth Rs 35,700 crore in Sindri, Dhanbad, Jharkhand on March 1. The development projects encompass the sectors of fertilisers, rail, power, and coal.
