Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the balance between development and heritage, with pilgrimage sites being developed alongside hi-tech infrastructure in cities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Uttar Pradesh on Monday, where he laid the cornerstone of the Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal district and addressed the audience. The temple is being built by the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, chaired by Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who was expelled by the Congress for his "anti-party remarks" after meeting PM Modi and inviting him to lay the foundation stone.
Here are some key takeaways from Modi's speech:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasiseded the balance between development and heritage, with pilgrimage sites being developed alongside hi-tech infrastructure in cities. He mentioned the construction of temples and new medical colleges across the country, the return of ancient sculptures from abroad, and record foreign investment. "...It is during this period that we have seen Vishwanath Dham flourishing in Kashi. During this period we are witnessing the rejuvenation of Kashi. It is during this period that we have seen the glory of Mahalok of Mahakaal. We have seen the development of Somnath, and the reconstruction of Kedar Valley. We are imbibing the mantra of development as well as heritage," he said.
- At the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Hindu shrine Kalki Dham in Sambhal, PM Modi mentioned the end of a 500-year wait in Ayodhya on January 22, the inauguration of the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, and the emotional experience of Ram Lalla's presence.
- At the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Hindu shrine Kalki Dham in Sambhal, PM Modi mentioned Acharya Pramod Krishnam's statement that he had nothing to give but his feelings. He humorously remarked that in today's era, even if Sudama gave rice to Lord Krishna, a PIL would be filed in the Supreme Court, and Lord Krishna would be accused of corruption. He appreciated that Acharya Pramod Krishnam only expressed his feelings and did not give anything.
- PM Modi mentioned that today is also coincidentally the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, making the day more sacred and inspiring. He paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and respectfully bowed at his feet.
- Emphasising India's resilience, PM Modi remarked that despite enduring numerous foreign attacks and invasions over centuries, which could have obliterated a country's existence, India has emerged stronger than ever. "Today, for the first time, India is at a stage where we are not following, we are setting an example. Today, for the first time, India is being seen as a centre of possibilities in the field of technology and digital technology. We are being recognised as an innovation hub," said Modi.
