Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated his 'friend' Donald Trump on a 'spectacular victory'.

Following Donald Trump’s remarkable comeback four years after he was voted out of the White House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first global leaders to wish the US President-elect.

The PM on Wednesday posted on the social media platform X saying that he looked forward to renewing their “collaboration to strengthen” the strategic partnership between the two countries and “build on the successes” of Trump’s previous term between 2016 and 2020. He later also dialed Trump and personally congratulated him.

“Had a great conversation with my friend, President Donald Trump, congratulating him on his spectacular victory. Looking forward to working closely together once again to further strengthen India-US relations across technology, defence, energy, space and several other sectors,” the PM posted on X.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also took to X to congratulate Trump. The USA is Israel's top ally and military backer. The USA presidential election was held amid wars in Gaza and Lebanon. "Congratulations on history's greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory!" Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office.

Saudi Arabia's King Salman and his son, de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, congratulated  Trump on his election victory on Wednesday, state media reported.

The two leaders sent cables to Trump. King Salman hailed "close relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, which everyone seeks to strengthen and develop in all fields", the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

The SPA later reported that Prince Mohammed called to congratulate Trump on his win and "expressed the kingdom's aspiration to strengthen the historical and strategic relations between the two countries, wishing the friendly American people progress and prosperity under His Excellency's leadership".

During his first term as the President, Trump visited Saudi Arabia in 2017. The visit underlined the importance of the historic US-Saudi partnership and cemented relations with Gulf allies.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan also offered “sincere congratulations to Trump and his running mate JD Vance".
