Bihar cabinet minister list 2025: Who took oath along with Nitish Kumar?

MLAs from the BJP, JD(U), RLJP, and HAM took oath as ministers in the new Bihar government. The portfolios will be allocated later.

Nitish Kumar on Thursday set a record by taking oath for the 10th time as Bihar Chief Minister. BJP’s Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also took oath as his deputies.

The ceremony in Patna's Gandhi Maidan was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda and several other top leaders of the NDA.

MLAs from the BJP, JD(U), RLJP, and HAM also took oath as ministers in the new Bihar government. The portfolios will be allocated later.

Bihar Governor Arif Mohommad Khan also administered oath to the following leaders:

The NDA came back to power in Bihar, winning 202 seats in the 243-member assembly constituency, with the BJP bagging 89 seats, JD(U) 85, LJP(RV) 19, HAM(S) 5 and RLM with 4 seats.

The new cabinet under Nitish Kumar will be observed for its delivery on these pre-poll promises:

-- A key NDA pledge is to curb outmigration by creating one crore jobs within the next five years.

-- Nitish Kumar is expected to deliver on his commitment to empower women by creating one crore Lakhpati Didis and helping selected women entrepreneurs become crorepatis.

-- Young people in Bihar, many of whom migrate for work, are anticipating the establishment of mega-skill centres in every district as promised.

-- The NDA has also proposed a Rs 5,000-crore revamp of the education sector.

-- Business communities and industries expect the government to fulfil its pre-election promises of developing seven expressways and adding 3,600 km of new railway tracks before the end of Kumar’s 10th term.

-- Citizens also hope to see Metro rail projects launched in four major cities, as assured by Nitish Kumar.

-- In the health sector, the NDA has promised a world-class Medicity and the establishment of a medical college in every district.
