Hollywood actor and humanitarian Angelina Jolie visited the Rafah Crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip on Friday as part of a humanitarian trip, drawing attention to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid mounting restrictions on aid deliveries. Her visit comes at a time when the Israeli government announced the suspension of operations of several international aid organisations in Gaza that had not renewed their registration, raising serious concerns among relief groups and global observers.

Jolie, who previously served as a special envoy for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), met with workers from the Egyptian Red Crescent and local aid organisations to discuss the severe challenges they face in delivering life‑saving assistance to civilians in the besieged territory. She also toured large warehouses filled with medical supplies and other items that have been denied entry into Gaza, highlighting the stark disconnect between needs on the ground and the restrictions imposed at border points.

In a statement shared by CNN, Jolie described, “I spoke to humanitarian agencies who are working hard to do their best to overcome the restrictions and challenges of delivering necessary aid into Gaza. I walked through a large warehouse that was full of items that were denied entry, most of them medical," Angelina said.

Jolie additionally met with aid workers from the Egyptian Red Crescent and various local organizations to explore ways to enhance humanitarian support for Gaza. She emphasized the necessity of ensuring continuous access and the urgent scaling up of aid distribution.“What needs to happen is clear: the ceasefire must hold, and access must be sustained, safe and urgently scaled up so that aid, fuel and critical medical supplies can move quickly and consistently, at the volume required. Winter items and essential medical equipment should move without delay. Every day of disruption costs lives," she stated, according to the report.

The visit also included meetings with volunteers and displaced Palestinian families in Egypt, part of Jolie’s ongoing engagement with refugee and humanitarian issues beyond her official UN role. She expressed gratitude to the aid workers and volunteers, acknowledging their commitment under extremely challenging conditions.
