Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan on Saturday congratulated the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on its landslide victory in the Maharashtra polls, attributing it to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The actor-turned-politician, who campaigned for Mahayuti in the recent Assembly polls, stated that the collective leadership of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar earned the confidence of the people in the state.
Notably, Kalyan covered 11 Assembly constituencies while campaigning for Mahayuti in Maharashtra, according to JSP leader Deva Varaprasad. All constituencies where Pawan campaigned saw victories for Mahayuti candidates, except for Latur city.
“It was an honour for me to participate in the Maharashtra election campaign in support of the Mahayuti candidates. The immense love and trust shown by the people of Maharashtra during the campaign is unforgettable,” said Kalyan on X.
“I look forward to continuing mutual cooperation between Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh and working for the development and welfare of our people,” he added.

JSP official spokesperson Bolisetty Satyanarayana told The New Indian Express that NDA leadership had requested Kalyan to allocate his time for campaigning in Maharashtra after seeing the public response to his roadshows and meetings in the state.
Following the election results, the NDA leadership expressed deep gratitude to Pawan Kalyan for playing a key role in securing the victory of Mahayuti candidates in all the areas he campaigned for, the report added.
The BJP and its Mahayuti allies, NCP and Shiv Sena, managed a stellar performance in the Assembly polls. While the BJP won on 132 seats, Shiv Sena bagged 57 seats and NCP secured 41 seats.
