The summer schedule for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai (CSMIA) 2024 will show an eight percent increase in weekly airline movements compared with that for 2023.
"CSMIA will experience 951 daily movements, an increase from approximately 882 in the previous summer schedule of 2023. With over 6,657 movements weekly, there will be an observed hike of over 8% in weekly flight operations in 2024 compared to 2023," the airport authority said in a press release.
The 951 daily movements will comprise 269 foreign and 682 domestic traveller movements.
This increased flight availability would be beneficial to passengers from Mumbai and the surrounding areas. In addition, extra flights will be offered on the summer timetable to foreign locations including Paris, Doha, and Hanoi as well as the recently added Tashkent route.
Weekly departures from IndiGo will total 1,255, with contributions from Air India and Vistara coming in at 539 and 519, respectively, CSMIA said. The number of flights to Delhi will expand significantly with the inclusion of 27 new weekly flights, among other noteworthy increases. Notable frequency increases to other important destinations are as follows: Ayodhya (14 flights weekly), Kolkata (9) and Srinagar (28 flights weekly).
Several infrastructure improvements have been put in place by CSMIA in order to efficiently handle the increasing demand for passenger travel and provide a good experience when using the airport.
