'Either you have hand in it or...': Chirag Paswan attacks Nitish govt over ambulance shocker

After the shocking incident of a woman candidate of the Home Guard being gangraped inside an ambulance, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan launched a scathing attack on the Bihar government over the lack of safety in the state.

"I feel sad that I am supporting a government where crime has become rampant. It is imperative to control it, or else the consequences will be very bad. This is playing with the lives of people here," Paswan said, while speaking to the media," he said.

"A series of crimes like murder, rape, gang rape, dacoity, burglary, theft and eve teasing are taking place one after another in the state. Though action and arrests have taken place, it raises the question - why are such incidents happening in the state?"

He also said, "I request the Bihar government to take action on this matter in a timely manner. I feel ashamed that I am supporting such a government, under which crime has gotten out of control."

Paswan also said that the government should aim to stop these crimes even if they are happening to defame them. "Either the administration has a hand in it, or it is trying to cover up these incidents, or it has become completely ineffective. The situation is turning dangerous."

He also urged immediate action in the matter and said, "I request the Bihar government to act before it's too late."

"The way there have been criminal incidents one by one, and the way the government has bowed its head down in front of criminals. It is true that the incident is as condemnable as embarrassing, and an arrest also happened. But why are such incidents like murder, loot, dacoit, rape, one after another, happening in Bihar? It looks like the government is totally unsuccessful in curtailing these incidents. If this keeps going on, then it will create a very frightening situation in our state," Paswan said.

"I am saying, let them do it (boycott polls) if they have the courage. These are the political parties that cannot even fight alone. RJD, an old party of Bihar, does not have the courage to contest elections alone; they are in an alliance with Congress. Even Congress does not have the courage to fight alone here. Chirag Paswan did this in 2020. They are only trying to create fear," he added.
