Meesho has appointed Mohit Rajani, who has worked with Instagram, Facebook (now Meta) and Google, as the chief product officer (CPO), the e-commerce startup said on September 2.
Rajani will lead the company’s product organisation, overseeing the product management, design, and analytics teams.
Most recently, he was with software Carta where he led new Generative AI-enabled products among other roles and projects in San Francisco. Rajani will move to Bengaluru for the Meesho job.
He takes over from Kirti Varun Avasarala who left the startup in January after a four-year stint.
“The company’s mission to democratise internet commerce resonates deeply with my passion for creating meaningful products. I am excited to work with Meesho’s talented team to build innovative solutions that empower millions of Indians,” Rajani said.
He will be instrumental in Meesho’s monetisation journey. The e-commerce company is a zero- commission platform and earns money only through ads and other monetisation efforts.
Rajani’s expertise in monetising ads for Instagram and Facebook Messenger is a skill Meesho will look to tap into, the company said.

Rajani has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
