Marriott International and Vardhman Amrante ink deal to debut Westin Hotels & Resorts in Punjab

Hospitality major Marriott International and Vardhman Amrante, the real estate arm of Oswal Group, inked a deal to develop first Westin Hotel and Resort at Ludhiana in Punjab.

The hotel will comprise of 200 keys and will function under the brand “Westin Hotels and Resorts”. The development cost is estimated to be approximately Rs 260 crore, the company said on June 30.

Adish Oswal, Chairman, Oswal Group, said that the partnership is a significant milestone in the company’s vision to elevate the city's hospitality landscape with a wellness-driven luxury experience.

“We are excited to bring the globally acclaimed Westin brand to Ludhiana in collaboration with Marriott International. We are committed to create landmark destinations, and the Westin hotel will serve as its crown jewel, catering to discerning business and leisure travellers,” he said.

Oswal added that Ludhiana is renowned as a vibrant hub of commerce and culture, offers the ideal backdrop for the debut of the Westin brand.

He further said this development will not only complement the city's growth but also set new standards in hospitality and lifestyle offerings for North India.

“Through this strategic collaboration with Vardhman Amrante, we aim to redefine excellence in guest service while unlocking growth opportunities in Ludhiana. As the city’s inaugural Westin Hotel, this milestone underscores our unwavering commitment to catering to the evolving needs of travellers while strengthening our presence in India's high-growth markets,” Ranju Alex, Regional Vice President – South Asia, Marriott International, said.

Ludhiana stands as one of Punjab’s most influential centres for industry, trade, agriculture, and logistics.

The upcoming Westin hotel will enjoy access with just 20 minutes from Ludhiana railway station, 1.5 hours from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, 10–15 minutes from the Ludhiana city centre and 15-20 minutes from upcoming Halwara Airport which will further enhance connectivity.

The hotel also plans to feature large banqueting space, including an expansive outdoor lawn.
