Foreign fund Amansa Holding, owned by Singapore-based fund manager Akash Prakash, has picked a 2 percent equity stake in Strides Pharma Science (STAR) via open market transactions on January 2.

As per the bulk data published by exchanges, Amansa Holding has bought 5,94,000 equity shares in STAR on the BSE at an average price of Rs 659.41 per share and 12,23,200 more shares at an average price of Rs 659.81 per share.

The total value of the shares bought by Amansa was Rs 119.87 crore. Strides Pharma Science shares jumped 3.2 percent to Rs 675.5.

VST Industries was also in full action on Tuesday as the stock was locked in a 20 percent upper circuit at Rs 4,065.3 after block deals.

Ace investor Radhakishan Shivkishan Damani has bought 2,22,935 equity shares, equivalent to 1.4 percent of paid-up equity, in VST Industries at an average price of Rs 3,390 per share, valuing at Rs 75.57 crore.

SBI Mutual Fund also picked 2.25 lakh shares in the cigarette company at the same average price.

However, HDFC Mutual Fund sold 2 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 3,390.13 per share, and DSP Mutual Fund offloaded 2.5 lakh shares in VST Industries at an average price of Rs 3,390 per share.

As of September 2023, SBI Small Cap Fund held 6.81 lakh shares or 4.41 percent stake in VST Industries, while HDFC Mutual Fund had 6.81 percent shareholding and DSP Small Cap Fund 2.4 percent shares in VST.

Meanwhile, Malabar India Fund has bought 10 lakh equity shares, which is equivalent to 0.76 percent of paid-up equity in PDS, at an average price of Rs 505.17 per share. However, PDS shares fell 2.8 percent to Rs 512.95.
