    Despite merchant tariff in south region being under pressure, JSW Energy may post June Rs 302 crore profit in June quarter compared to Rs 3.4 crore in the year-ago period. During Q1FY13, the firm had an exceptional item of Rs 232.5 crore adjusting for which profit growth will look better this time.


    According to CNBC-TV18 poll, sales will also go up around 11.6 percent year-on-year to Rs 2404 crore on improved demand. EBITDA may also climb 850 bps to 33.9 percent.

    Key factors that will influence JSW energy’s Q1 numbers


    The company has already started commercial operations of its 540 megawatt thermal plant at Barmer in Rajasthan, boosting capacity.


    Plant load factors will hover around 88 percent with a net generation of over 4700 million units.


    Since most of the planned projects have become operational, there will be volume improvement.

    JSW stock is trading very close to its 52 week low of Rs 39.6 and is under pressure due to lot of additional pledged coming in from promoters and also due to weakening of the rupee.
