Bharti Airtel Q2 net profit jumps 73.6% YoY to Rs 6,792 crore; revenue rises 25.7%

Bharti Airtel's consolidated Q2 FY26 revenue grew 25.7 percent YoY to Rs 52,145 crore, while EBITDA rose 35.9 percent YoY to Rs 29,919 crore, with margin expanding to 57.4 percent, according to a company statement.

Bharti Airtel reported a 73.6 percent year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 6,792 crore for the July-September quarter, supported by higher operating earnings led by premiumisation in the mobile segment and record customer additions in its home broadband business. The telecom major's Q2 ARPU (average revenue per user) rose from Rs 233 to Rs 256.

Bharti Airtel's consolidated revenue rose 25.7 percent to Rs 52,145 crore, driven by growth in India mobility, stronger fibre broadband additions, and expansion in Africa operations.

India revenue grew 22.6 percent year-on-year to Rs 38,690 crore. The company added 5.1 million net smartphone customers during the quarter and 22.2 million over the year, with smartphone users now accounting for 78 percent of the mobile customer base.

Average monthly data usage reached 28.3 GB per customer. The homes business added 951,000 customers, with segment revenue rising 30.2 percent year-on-year.

Consolidated EBITDA rose 35.9 percent to Rs 29,919 crore, with a margin of 57.4 percent. India EBITDA stood at Rs 23,204 crore, with a 60 percent margin, while consolidated EBIT increased 51.6 percent to Rs 16,669 crore.

"We delivered another quarter of solid performance, achieving a consolidated revenue of ₹52,145 crore growing 5.4% sequentially and underscoring the strength of our portfolio. Our India revenue, including Passive Infrastructure Services, increased by 2.9%. Africa delivered another quarter of standout performance with constant currency revenue growth of 7.1%...our solid balance sheet is a reflection of disciplined capital allocation, continued deleveraging and sustained operational excellence," Gopal Vittal, Vice-Chairman and MD, said in a statement.

The company deployed 2,479 towers and 20,841 mobile broadband base stations during the quarter, and rolled out 44,104 km of fibre over the past 12 months.

Airtel Business recorded 4.3 percent sequential revenue growth, while Digital TV revenue stood at Rs 753 crore with a 15.4-million customer base. Passive infrastructure services revenue rose 1.6 percent sequentially.

Africa revenue grew 24.2 percent year-on-year in constant currency, with EBITDA margin at 48.8 percent and EBIT margin at 32.3 percent. Capex for the quarter was Rs 11,362 crore.
