With the government signing off plans to create 100 smart cities and stepping the pedal on the pace of urbanisation, Schneider Electric is likely to be a beneficiary, says VP & MD, Prakash Kumar Chandraker in an interview to CNBC-TV18.
The company has already undertaken projects in the smart grid area, he adds. He expects the smart city initiative to be a game changer for infrastructure companies.
The company is present in energy & infra, industry, buildings, data centres & networks segments.
With the investment momentum into the power sector going up and focus on renewable energy space there would be ample business opportunities for the company going forward, says Chandraker.
