Coca Cola, the renowned beverage company, is set to expand its manufacturing capacity with a new greenfield plant in Telangana's Peddapalli district, investing Rs 700 crore. The plant will be established by Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages (HCCB), the company's wholly owned bottling arm, which has already identified potential sites for the facility.

During discussions with a delegation including Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu and R&B and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy at Coca Cola's headquarters in Atlanta, United States, Head of Fiscal Policy Jonathan Rief and other senior executives shared plans for the new plant.

"This decision marks a significant shift of new large-scale manufacturing capacities by multinational companies into the hinterland of the state away from Hyderabad thereby leading to a more distributed industrial growth in the state, in line with the priority of the new government," IT and Industries & Commerce Minister Sridhar Babu said on June 8.

HCCB CEO Juan Pablo Rodriguez and senior executives had previously discussed expansion plans, including the Rs 700 crore greenfield plant, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister Sridhar Babu. The state government has pledged cooperation and support for the project.
