While they may be hailed as superheroes, balancing work and home life often feels like an endless juggling act for many women. Amidst this chaos, focusing on interior spaces and upkeep can feel overwhelming. Fortunately, the design world has adapted, offering solutions tailored to busy moms' needs, ensuring their homes remain inviting and organised havens amidst the hustle and bustle.

Says Architect Ridhima Singh, Founder & principal designer of Danza Del Design, "Being a woman, I understand that maintaining clean and tidy interior spaces can be challenging. However, as a designer, I also understand that the design industry has evolved beyond traditional practices to offer solutions tailored to busy moms, ensuring their interiors remain well-maintained, while they juggle with their hectic schedules."

Ridhima Singh shares top five interior design tips to help working women create spaces that not only reflect their personal style but also cater to their practical needs.

Create minimalistic spaces: Opt for minimalistic designs in your home. Choose furniture that serves multiple purposes and offers ample storage to keep toys, books, and other items organised and out of sight. Clever storage solutions like bins, baskets, and shelving units can help achieve this.

Go for functional layouts: Prioritise functional layouts to make your home more practical for busy moms. Clear pathways, designated work and play areas, and well-thought-out layouts contribute to an airy and tidy living space.

Opt for durable and practical designs: Consider durable and low-maintenance designs for your home to simplify your daily tasks. Choose stain- and scratch-resistant textiles and surfaces, along with easy-to-clean finishes. Investing in timeless, high-quality pieces reduces the need for frequent furniture replacements.

Maintain different activity zones: With a busy lifestyle, it is important to maintain your home into distinct activity zones. Design highly functional work areas with efficient furniture and storage solutions, while creating comfortable relaxation spaces with plush armchairs and throw pillows.

Prioritise self-care spaces: It is important for moms to have dedicated spaces for self-care within their homes. Create a quiet bedroom retreat or a cosy corner filled with your favourite books and cherished memories. These areas should reflect your interests, hobbies, and passions, providing you with moments of relaxation and rejuvenation.
