The shares of Hindustan Zinc jumped 3 percent as silver prices hit fresh record highs, extending a record bull run. The shares have now gained over 7.5 percent in one month.
The precious and industrial metal, along with gold, has seen significant rally amid geopolitical uncertainties and macroeconomic factors this year. Silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) with December expiry jumped more than 2 percent to hit an all time high of Rs 1,36,987 per kilogram today.
Silver futures at lifetime high:
Silver futures with March expiry hit a fresh all time high of Rs 1,38,264 per kilogram. The contracts with May expiry meanwhile touched a lifetime high of Rs 1,40,150 per kilogram.
Hindustan Zinc is the largest producer of silver in India, and produces refined silver with a minimum 99.9 percent purity. The sharp rise in the bullion's prices is expected to further boost the stock.
Gold futures rise marginally:
Gold futures also recorded gains on September 25. The yellow metal's futures with October and December expiry on the MCX were up around 0.4 percent each to trade at around Rs 1,13,000 per 10 grams-mark and Rs 1,14,000 per 10 grams-mark, respectively.

Hindustan Zinc shares were trading at around Rs 468.50 apiece. The stock gained more than 5 percent in the past six months, but has fallen nearly 9 percent in 2025 so far. It has gained more than 123 percent in the past five years.
The stock's P/E ratio currently stands at around 19. After hitting a 52-week high of Rs 575.40 apiece in October 2024, the stock had fallen more than 34 percent to hit a 52-week low of Rs 378.15 apiece in March this year. The shares of the company have recovered nearly 24 percent since then.
