Ye Maaya Chesave re release - Samantha Ruth Prabhu shuts down rumours of reuniting with Naga Chaitanya for the film's promotions

Former couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu met during the shoot of their movie 'Ye Maaya Chesave'. The two fell in love while filming for the movie in 2010.

The couple dated for a while, eventually tied the knot in 2017, and then filed for a divorce in 2021.

After all these years, the movie is finally getting a re-release. Fans were hoping the pair would reunite for the promotional tour, but Samantha has already declared that she has no plans to do so "at all."

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Samantha was asked whether she and her ex husaband Naga Chaitanya will be promoting the film ahead of its re-release on July 18 and she said: "No, I am not promoting Ye Maaya Chesave with anyone. In fact, I’m not promoting the film at all.”

"I don’t know where this talk is coming from. Maybe fans of the film want to see the lead pair together. But one can’t live one’s life through the audience’s lensing of life," she added.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu became a household name after the release of Ye Maaya Chesave, which was a huge success.

“I really remember every single shot. The first shot I did for that film was at the gate, with my character Jessie meeting Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) for the first time. And I remember everything about it—every single detail. It was fantastic working with Gautham Menon, who knew exactly what he wanted and how the character should come across,” she added.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya were married for six years but their marriage ended in divorce. Post her divorce, Samantha also made an appearance on Koffee With Karan and shot rumours of having taken Rs 250 crore in alimony. She also said that equation with Naga was not amicable. “Like if you put us both in a room, you have to hide sharp objects? Yeah. As of now, yes,” she had then told the host Karan Johar.

Naga Chaitanya is now married to actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The two tied the knot in December 2024.
