During the trailer launch of her critically acclaimed 2017 film Mom, Sridevi revealed an extraordinary instance of her devotion to her role. While preparing for the emotionally intense character of a vigilante mother, she avoided personal interactions with her husband, producer Boney Kapoor, for three months.

WHY DID SRIDEVI NOT TALK TO BONEY KAPOOR FOR THREE MONTHS?

Speaking about her preparation, Sridevi explained, "For three months, I did not speak to Boney ji as a husband. I used to greet him good morning, and after pack-up, I wished him goodnight. That was the only conversation I had with him." This conscious decision, she noted, helped her stay in character throughout the filming process. Reflecting on her working style, she described herself as "a director’s actor," stating, "I surrender totally to the director. I followed Ravi Udyawar’s vision, and he did a wonderful job."

However, their relationship deepened during the making of the iconic 1987 Bollywood film Mr. India. Interestingly, Sridevi starred in the film opposite Boney’s younger brother, Anil Kapoor. During the production, Boney was captivated by her beauty and talent. Their friendship eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship in the 1990s, despite the challenges of being in the public eye.
