Boney Kapoor on Diljit Dosanjh's exit from No Entry 2: We have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning

The much-awaited sequel to the 2005 comedy blockbuster ‘No Entry’ has hit an unexpected roadblock as actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is no longer part of the project. Producer Boney Kapoor confirmed the development, clarifying that the decision was purely due to scheduling conflicts and that both parties parted ways on amicable terms.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, No Entry 2 was set to roll cameras in October 2025 with a refreshed cast that includes Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor stepping into lead roles.

Initially, Diljit Dosanjh being a part of the movie had generated considerable buzz, given his recent string of successful films and global music tours.

However, Boney Kapoor revealed in an interview with NDTV that dates became the key stumbling block. “Yes, we have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning with our requirements; hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together,” he said.

Reports indicate that Diljit’s packed calendar, particularly his Aura Tour across Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13, clashed with the film’s shooting schedule. With international tours and multiple projects lined up, the star had little room to accommodate the film.

Boney Kapoor also reflected on the larger casting challenges the sequel has faced.

He admitted it was a setback not to retain the original trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan. “Yeh humara loss hai that we could not retain the same star cast. We waited almost 8 to 10 years, but things didn’t materialise. We will miss them,” he said, while praising the original team as some of the industry’s finest.

Despite the setbacks, Boney Kapoor remains optimistic about the new direction.

The sequel promises a fresh start with younger actors like Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, while the female cast is yet to be officially announced. Industry buzz suggests Tamannaah Bhatia may join the project, though no confirmation has been made.

As anticipation builds, No Entry 2 carries the weight of living up to its predecessor’s cult status. For now, fans will have to reconcile with the absence of both Diljit Dosanjh and the original trio, but Kapoor is hopeful the film’s revamped energy will strike a chord with audiences once again.
