In past one year, the music world has been buzzing with the ongoing debate over Neha Kakkar’s new song, "O Sajna." This song is a remix of Falguni Pathak’s iconic 1999 hit "Maine Payal Hai Chhankai." As soon as "O Sajna" was released, fans of the original song quickly expressed their disappointment, claiming that the remix ruined the charm of the classic.

Falguni Pathak, known for her soulful melodies, did not hold back when sharing her feelings about the remix. In an interview with Delhi Times, she had revealed what was her initial reaction to O Sajna the moment she heard it. She candidly stated, “I got to know about the remixed version three or four days back. My first reaction was not good. I was like, mujhe bas ulti aani baaki thi, aisa ho gaya tha.” This translates to, "I was about to puke; it felt like that." Her strong words highlighted how deeply she felt about the changes made in the remix.

Falguni expressed her belief that the essence of her original song has been lost in this new version. She reminisced about the innocence captured in the original video and how the remix had altered that spirit. “The video and picturization had such innocence, but they have ruined it,” she said. This comment struck a chord with many fans who agreed that the original had a unique charm that was hard to replicate.

The artist went on to explain her views on remixes in general. Falguni pointed out that while remixing songs has become a common trend in the music industry, it should be done with respect for the original work. She stated, “If you want to reach out to the younger generation, change the rhythm of the song, but don’t make it cheap. Don’t change the originality of the song.” This perspective resonated with many, emphasizing the need to honor musical heritage.

Falguni also noted that she feels a strong sense of support from her fans. They have been actively voicing their disapproval of the remix, and she feels empowered by their reactions. “I don’t think I need to do anything; my fans are taking action against the song. I am just sharing the stories. Why should I keep quiet when they are supporting me, main kaise chup baithun?” she asked. Her words reflected her appreciation for the loyalty and passion of her fanbase.

In her quest for justice, Falguni revealed that she had considered taking legal action against Neha Kakkar for the remix, but unfortunately, the rights to the original song were not with her. “I wish I could but the rights are not with me,” she lamented. This situation highlights a common issue in the music industry, where artists may not always retain ownership of their creations.

On the other side of the debate, Neha Kakkar addressed the backlash she faced following the release of "O Sajna." While she did not directly confront the criticism, she took to Instagram to share her feelings. Neha expressed that she felt "sorry for" those who were unhappy with her success and happiness. She added that she was "too blessed to have bad days," showcasing her positive outlook despite the negativity surrounding her.

As the controversy continued, it sparked a broader discussion about the nature of remixes in the music industry. Many fans and artists weighed in on the topic, debating the fine line between honoring an original work and creating something new. Falguni Pathak’s passionate defense of her song opened up conversations about the importance of respecting musical heritage, especially in a time when remixes are becoming increasingly popular.
