Bollywood actor Govinda was rushed to CritiCare Asia Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai after suddenly feeling weak and disoriented at his home on Tuesday night. The 60-year-old star, known for his energetic screen presence and charm, had reportedly been feeling uneasy since morning before the situation worsened late at night.
His long-time friend and legal advisor, Lalit Bindal, has now shared details about what really happened and clarified why Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, wasn’t by his side during the emergency.

He added that Govinda had immediately called his family doctor, who advised him to take some medicine.
“He got in touch with his family doctor who gave him medicine,” Bindal said, explaining that Govinda took the prescribed dose around 8:30–9:00 pm and then went to rest in his room.
However, things took a worrying turn later that night. “Then, achanak se (suddenly), he again felt uneasy, disoriented, weak and felt suffocated around 12 in the night. Following which, Govinda called me home. I reached his home at 12:15 and after the advice from his doctor, took him to the hospital. We took him to the emergency ward where his vitals were checked and he was admitted. He was admitted around 1 am,” Bindal revealed.
Bindal assured fans that the actor’s condition has since stabilised. “Govinda is doing better now,” he said. “Several tests have been done. Now, all his reports are awaited. He is under constant observation. Govinda is resting at the moment. There is no word on discharge yet as the doctors are waiting for the reports’ result to come and then will decide a further course of action. I spoke to Govinda in the morning, and he told me that he is feeling better.”
Why Sunita Ahuja wasn’t with him
As reports spread online, some fans began questioning why Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, was not present when he was taken to the hospital. Lalit Bindal cleared the air, explaining that she was out of town at the time. “Sunita was not in town and had gone for a wedding. She came to Mumbai late at night and is coming to the hospital now,” he said.
He further added that Govinda’s daughter Tina was also away on work in Chandigarh but was on her way back. “She is also on her way back, and will be with Govinda by the evening,” he confirmed.
