When Bhagyashree recalled being asked about 'affair with Salman Khan' after giving birth to son Abhimanyu, watch video

Bhagyashree and Salman Khan became an iconic on-screen couple with their 1989 classic Maine Pyar Kiya, captivating the hearts of an entire generation. The film's soulful songs like Kabootar Ja Ja Ja, Aate Jaate Haste Gaate, and Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali remain evergreen, cherished by fans even today. However, in a past interview with Siddharth Kanan, Bhagyashree opened up about a startling experience she had just after giving birth to her son, Abhimanyu. She recalled that a reporter managed to enter her hospital room and posed an extremely personal and unexpected question to her husband, Himalaya. This incident deeply affected her, contributing to her decision to step away from films and stop reading movie magazines.

She further revealed that the reporter, who was from a well-known publication, initially approached her sister-in-law, expressing a desire to meet Bhagyashree. Holding a bouquet in her hand, the reporter gave the impression that she had come to congratulate the actress, but her true intentions turned out to be quite different.

She said, "Wo andar ayi and she looked at Himalay and said 'Aapko kaisa lagta hai, Bhagyashree ka affair Salman ke saath tha aur ab ye bachcha hua hai? I was like life ke kabhi kisi ne aisi baat nahi ki or there was ever anything (like that). Even during the entire course of Maine Pyar Kiya being made Salman was such a gentleman. Kabhi hum dono ka aisa rishta nahi tha. Kisi ne ek katra hi aisi baat nahi ki thi. And this was on the very next day of my delivering a baby. Toh mujhe yeh laga ki log kitna kisi aur ko takhleef pahucha sakte hain (She came inside, looked at Himalaya, and said, "How do you feel about the fact that Bhagyashree had an affair with Salman, and now this baby is born?" I was shocked because no one had ever said anything like that in my life, nor was there ever anything like that. Even during the entire making of Maine Pyar Kiya, Salman was such a gentleman. There was never that kind of relationship between us. Not even a single person had ever made such a remark. And this happened just a day after I had delivered my baby. That’s when I realized how much people can go to any extent to hurt someone else).

The incident left a lasting impact on Bhagyashree, prompting her to step away from the film industry. After becoming an overnight sensation with Maine Pyar Kiya, she embraced motherhood with the birth of her children, Abhimanyu and Avantika. In a past interview, she shared that her decision to leave films was driven by her desire to focus on her marriage and motherhood, a choice she has never regretted.

For those unversed, Bhagyashree is happily married to her childhood sweetheart Himalaya Dasani since 1990 and the couple share two kids Abhimanyu and Avantika Dasani.
