The Kannada film UI The Movie, directed by and starring Upendra, has garnered praise from audiences for its innovative storyline and distinct filming style. Released on December 20, 2024, the movie opened strongly, earning Rs 6.75 crore on its first day.

According to Sacnilk, UI earned Rs 6.75 crore on its opening day in India. Of this, the film grossed an impressive Rs 6 crore from its home state, Karnataka, highlighting its strong regional performance.

In terms of occupancy, the film saw a solid performance in its Kannada version on December 20, Friday, with an overall occupancy rate of 72.44%. The morning shows recorded a 63.06% occupancy, followed by 61.82% in the afternoon, 75% during the evening, and an impressive 89.86% for the night shows.

In Tamil Nadu, the Upendra starrer UI saw a modest overall occupancy of 7.39% on its opening day. The morning shows had a low occupancy of 3.71%, followed by 5.69% in the afternoon, 3% during the evening, and a slight increase to 17.17% for the night shows.

In the Telugu-speaking regions, the film performed better with an overall occupancy of 38.32%. The morning shows had an occupancy of 33.34%, followed by 29.04% in the afternoon. The evening shows saw a rise to 36.24%, and the night shows experienced a stronger turnout, with an occupancy of 54.66%.

The dystopian science fiction film UI, starring Upendra, has reportedly earned Rs 70 lakh from the Telugu box office, Rs 4 lakh from Tamil Nadu, and Rs 1 lakh from the Hindi
region.

Directed by Upendra and produced by Lahari Films and Venus Entertainers, UI (2024) features a star-studded cast including Upendra, Reeshma Nanaiah, Sunny Leone, Sadhu Kokila, and Murali Sharma in pivotal roles.
