After being the target of internet trolling due to her interfaith marriage to actor Krish Pathak, actress Sara Khan has spoken candidly.
Sara has responded to the online love and criticism directed at the couple, who recently registered their marriage in a low-key court ceremony, with poise, fortitude, and clarity.
Taking to Instagram, the Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai star shared a video thanking fans for their love and support, while also offering a thoughtful message to those criticising her for marrying outside her religion.
“Krish and I belong to different cultures, but we believe both our religions taught us love. Our families taught us to respect others first and not to hurt anyone. We also think so, we think alike... I want to thank all the positive well-wishers for your immense love,” she said, smiling warmly at the camera.
Sara, however, didn’t shy away from addressing the hate. In a calm but firm tone, she reminded people of what faith truly stands for. “Please learn that any religion does not teach you to put down any other religion or beliefs or disrespect anyone. We are sharing our marital status with our well-wishers and not asking for anyone’s approval because we already have the approval of our families and the law. Any relation with my God is mine, completely mine. No one has any right to comment between me and my God. No religion teaches you to say bad words or interfere in someone’s life,” she said.
The actor also revealed that she and Krish plan to celebrate their union in both traditions, saying, “We will have a Nikah and a traditional Pahadi Shadi with proper pheras.”

Sharing the clip, Sara wrote, “Thank you, everyone and love, love and only love to you all.” Krish responded to her post with a line from the Shah Rukh Khan classic Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi — “Tujh mein rab dikhta hai... yaara main kya karu.”
Earlier this week, Sara and Krish announced their marriage with a series of stunning pictures, captioned beautifully: “Two faiths. One script. Infinite love. The signatures are sealed. From Qubool Hai se Saat Phere, the vows await this December.”
Sara was earlier married to Ali Merchant during Bigg Boss 4 in 2010.
