A fifth grader is getting trolled on social media after his brief, but unforgettable appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. You need to see a 2-minute clip that is going viral and you will understand why immediately. Many would agree that the kid was undoubtedly brazen and cocky on the show. The kind of cockiness that is unsettling. From giving the answer before options were given to telling host of the show Amitabh Bachchan to lock the answer in a rather rude and authoritative tone, the kid's attitude was quite dismal. The highlight of the 2-minute clip was how calm and composed Bachchan was despite the kid's relentless nagging behaviour.

Ever since the kid has come on the show, the netizens have been trolling him and his parents for not inculcating the right set of basic manners. "Seeing all this makes me not want to have a child", wrote one user. The second user wrote, "It's good that the boy got out of the fifth question. There is no respect in his words or actions. There is nothing to say about this except that it is a bad upbringing by his family."

However, some people also felt that the kid had low attention span. Another theory that did the round was that the kid could have been suffering from six pocket syndrome. Wondering what this is all about? Well, it is a situation when a kid is said to be excessively pampered by 6 adults, that, his parents and four grandparents.

Moneycontrol's lifestyle team spoke to Dr Minakshi Manchanda, Associate Director, Psychiatry, Asian Hospital, to dissect child's behaviour. She opines, "The child in the KBC show may appear as "outspoken and overconfident" to some people, but we need to remember that that every child has a different way of expressing himself/herself in a particular situation. Some children are naturally more assertive or talk in ways they pick up from adults or social media, and we call them over-confident. Judging or trolling a child online is unfair and harmful. Just watching a child for half an hour on a show, in no way reflects the personality of the child."

Given the child was prompting answers in an impudent manner, many wondered if he suffered from ADHD. To this, the doctor said, "We obviously cannot diagnose a child just by watching a TV clip. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a medical condition that needs proper evaluation by a mental health professional. All talkative or hyperactive children do not have ADHD. In this particular case, the kid may be just overconfident or pampered."

As a concluding thought, the kid definitely needs to reign in his impulsive reaction to everything and taught basic manners. However, the trolling will probably do more damage to his self esteem in the long run than many of us realise. With respect to the child's parents, they too may have felt awkward when their kid was on the hotseat. Who knows? All one can hope for is that the trolling just stops now and the kid may revisit the whole episode only to learn lessons out of it.
