Television actress Surabhi Das, best known for her role in Nima Denzongpa, is set to take a giant leap in her career as she steps into Bollywood with Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated magnum opus, Ramayana.
As per TellyChakkar, Surabhi will be portraying Urmila — the devoted sister of Maa Sita and wife of Lakshman — in this grand mythological saga.
For the Assamese actress, moving from the small screen to the big screen in a movie with an already impressive cast is a huge milestone. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita, and Kannada superstar Yash as the menacing Ravana. In addition to its scope, the film has generated buzz for its careful casting and meticulous attention to detail.
On her Instagram, Surabhi posted a sweet collection of behind-the-scenes pictures that included her interactions with director Nitesh Tiwari and co-stars Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor.
Speaking about her experience working with Ranbir Kapoor, Surabhi told TellyChakkar, “His aura is unmatched. He is a very sincere actor and one can learn a lot just by observing him perform. I feel extremely fortunate to be part of such a magnum project. We couldn't talk much because on the set he had to be in his character but yes, we did exchange pleasantries and he meets everybody with a lot of respect and that's I think an important sign of being a great human being. On the last day shoot, we did speak generally and it was amazing to work with him so closely.”

She also shared her admiration for Sai Pallavi, adding, “Compared to Ranbir, I spent more time with Sai. She is extremely sweet and a warm person. Overall it has been an enriching experience and I can't wait for the movie's release.”
Helmed by the acclaimed director and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film blends mythological grandeur with modern cinematic vision — and features a stellar cast from both Bollywood and the South Indian film industries.
