SJ Suryah praises Chiyaan Vikram and calls ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’ a Hollywood-like film, says, "He’s the pride of Tamil film industry"

Tamil cinema is set to witness an exciting collaboration as actor-director SJ Suryah joins hands with superstar Vikram for the first time in the upcoming film Veera Dheera Sooran, directed by SU Arun Kumar. The film’s audio launch and trailer release took place in Chennai, where Suryah expressed his admiration for Vikram and the film’s Hollywood-like execution.

SJ Suryah, who plays the antagonist in the film, shared his enthusiasm about the project, calling it a unique experience. “Veera Dheera Sooran is a typical SU Arun Kumar film. As I said, he is a big Martin Scorsese fan. The movie is a Hollywood-like film made in Tamil with local sensibilities. I really enjoyed working in this film,” he stated.

The film marks Vikram’s return after Thangalaan, and the anticipation around it has been building. Speaking at the event, SJ Suryah praised Vikram’s dedication and talent, stating, “It’s a different film and all of us who worked on the film ensured we delivered exactly what the director wanted. Arun Kumar is not just a good director but also a good human being. Such people are rare in the world. This is the first time I am working with Chiyaan Vikram. What a lovely actor. He’s a highly talented actor and a star—someone who has effectively combined both. He’s the pride of the Tamil film industry.”

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan, Siddique, Prudhvi Raj, Ramesh Indhira, Pavel Navageethan, and others. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while Theni Eswar has handled cinematography, and Prasanna GK has taken care of the editing. The film is produced by Riya Shibu under HR Pictures, the production banner of Shibu Thameens’ daughter.

SJ Suryah also revealed insights into the filming process, appreciating the director’s meticulous approach. “Arun Kumar changed the mode of my acting. After I did a shot, he would come sit next to me and say ‘this was good, but let’s do this differently.’ You will see a new, different SJ Suryah in this movie. You can either be a star in a film or the antagonist—I’m an antagonist and a protagonist but also always a nayagan (actor),” he remarked.

The movie is designed as a two-part action thriller. The second part is scheduled for release on March 27, while the prequel has yet to go on floors. With a power-packed cast, a gripping storyline, and a director with a keen cinematic vision, Veera Dheera Sooran promises to be a visual spectacle that combines Tamil cinema’s essence with Hollywood-style filmmaking.
