Shraddha Kapoor shares nostalgic throwback photos with Stree and Stree 2 director and producer

Shraddha Kapoor recently took to Instagram to share some nostalgic throwback photos from six years ago with Stree and Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan, affectionately known as "Dino." In her post, Shraddha expressed her gratitude for being a part of the iconic film franchise, captioning the photos, "6 saal puraane photos, pehli 'Stree' ke dauraan humaare 'Stree' aur 'Stree 2' ke super duper blockbuster producer aur director ke saath. Thank you Dinoo aur Amar @amarkaushik mujhe apne kamaal, bemisaal aur lajavaab 'Stree' picharon mein shamil karne."

The Stree franchise has become a cornerstone of Indian cinema. The original Stree, released in 2018, is a Hindi-language comedy horror film directed by Amar Kaushik in his directorial debut and produced by Dinesh Vijan along with Raj & DK. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, the film is inspired by the urban legend Naale Baa, which translates to "come tomorrow" in Kannada, adapted as "O Stree Kal Aana" in the film.

The sequel, Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, released in 2024, continues the horror-comedy saga. Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, the film is produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios. The movie stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, with Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana returning in pivotal roles. The sequel follows the same group of friends as they confront a malevolent entity that terrorizes the women of Chanderi.

Both Stree and Stree 2 have been massive hits, with Stree 2 breaking multiple box office records. Stree 2 earned the title of the highest-grossing Hindi film in its second week, solidifying its place in the history of Indian cinema.
