Hrithik Roshan received an update in his personality rights case

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has recently received a big update in his personality rights plea. The Delhi High Court ordered the removal of some objectionable posts on Wednesday to protect his publicity and personality rights.

Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora has clarified that it was not passing any ex parte orders for the removal of specific fan pages. The court has also stated that an order would be issued following the hearing.

The court, which listed the matter for further hearing on March 27, 2026, said it would pass a detailed interim injunction order later.

Hrithik was pleading with the court to protect his personality rights and stop online platforms from unlawfully using his name, photos, and offensive AI-generated content.

Previously, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, her husband Abhishek Bachchan, Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, filmmaker Karan Johar, "Art of Living" founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and journalist Sudhir Chaudhary have also petitioned the high court for temporary relief in order to protect their publicity rights and personalities.

A similar petition filed by singer Kumar Sanu, who claims that morphed videos and defamatory content using his name and likeness were going viral online, is also scheduled to be heard by Justice Arora.

The Court had previously ordered Google and Meta to explain why their grievance officers were unable to remove URLs that contained such "morphed videos" and "profane language."

For the unversed, often referred to as personality rights, the right to publicity is the ability to safeguard, manage, and make money off of one's name, image, or likeness. (With PTI inputs)
