In his emotional message, Hrithik Roshan described the accident as ‘heartbreaking and traumatic,’ offering condolences to the family of the deceased and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.

But the Krrish star didn’t stop at sympathy, he used his platform to underscore why safety must be paramount in India’s rapid urban development.

Hrithik Roshan acknowledged the swift actions taken by authorities to hold those responsible accountable, but stressed that strict safety checks and enforcement of protocols were essential, especially amid the city’s massive expansion and construction boom.

Hrithik wrote, “Heartbreaking and traumatic. My condolences to the family of the deceased and prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured.

I commend the swift action taken by the authorities to ensure accountability, but the need for safety checks and prevention of such accidents is a priority, especially with all the development work going on across Mumbai, on the busiest streets.”

He added, “Safety of the construction workers and common people is of paramount importance, and I hope strict measures are taken to ensure guidelines and protocol are in place to avoid such incidents in the future (folded hands emoji)."

What happened in Mulund?

A heavy concrete parapet segment from the under-construction Mumbai Metro Line 4 viaduct collapsed onto busy LBS Road in Mulund West, striking a moving auto-rickshaw and a car around 12:15 pm on February 14, 2026.

The falling debris crushed the vehicles, killing one man and injuring three others, prompting emergency responders and metro officials to secure the site and rush the injured to the hospital.

In the aftermath, five project personnel were arrested, the contractor and consultants were fined crores of rupees, and authorities — including Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister — ordered safety audits, probe committees, and the suspension of an executive engineer as scrutiny intensified over construction safety protocols on the metro project.
