Bigg Boss 19 is serving up more than just drama this season — it’s also giving fans tender, relatable moments. In one of the recent episodes, singer-composer Amaal Mallik opened up about his school days and revealed something fans weren’t expecting: his childhood crush was none other than actress Shraddha Kapoor.
Recalling the memory with a smile, Amaal said: “School mein bhi... dentures pehen ke aati thi, meri senior thi... meri school ki crush thi, aur insaan bhi itni sweetheart (Even in school… she used to come wearing dentures, she was my senior… my school crush, and such a sweetheart of a person too)” He remembered Shraddha fondly as a senior who impressed him not with glamour, but with her simplicity and her kind nature.
He went on to praise the actress even today, especially her online presence: “Poore internet pe sabse asli following uss ladki ki hai, bina kuch kiye (Across the entire internet, that girl has the most genuine following — and she didn’t even have to do anything for it)” For Amaal, Shraddha’s authenticity both then and now is what makes her stand out.
This light-hearted revelation comes after a period of openness from the musician. Just last year, Amaal spoke about his struggles with clinical depression and how family-related issues took an emotional toll on him.
His honesty struck a chord with fans, making his recent confession about Shraddha feel like a softer, more nostalgic glimpse into his past.
The show itself, which began on 24 August, is streaming on JioHotstar at 9 PM and airing on COLORS TV at 10:30 PM. This season has a packed house, with celebrities and digital stars including Gaurav Khanna, Kunickaa Sadanand, Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, Ashnoor Kaur, Zeishan Quadri, Abhishek Bajaj, Natalia Janoszek, Farhana Bhatt, Mridul Tiwari, Neelam Giri, Pranit More, Baseer Ali, Tanya Mittal, and Nehal.
