On Prabhas’ 46th birthday, celebrated on October 23, the makers of his much-awaited film Spirit thrilled fans by unveiling the official announcement.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared a special announcement video carrying the tagline “One Bad Habit.” The video doesn’t feature any visuals but unfolds as a voice-driven narrative with text, much like the announcement for Vanga’s previous film, Animal.
Sharing the video, Vanga wrote, “Happy Birthday Prabhas anna. Presenting a ‘SOUND-STORY’ in five Indian languages straight from the heart, for every fan who’s felt his.”
Spirit is produced jointly by Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep's brother Pranay Reddy Vanga' production houses respectively.
The announcement begins with a gripping voice-over by Prakash Raj, hinting at the storyline and Prabhas’ character. From their exchange, it appears that Prabhas plays an IPS officer who now finds himself in prison.
Prakash Raj, who is likely portraying the Superintendent of Police, can be heard instructing him to walk faster and wear a prisoner’s uniform as he is on remand.
The highlight of the clip comes when Prabhas says in his intense style, “Mr. Superintendent, bachpan se meri ek buri aadat hai.” To this, Prakash Raj retorts sharply, “What?” Prabhas then continues, “Right from childhood, I have just one bad habit.” The screen then dramatically transitions to reveal the film’s title — Spirit.
The video also confirms the main cast of the film, featuring Triptii Dimri, Kanchana, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi alongside Prabhas. Spirit is expected to go on floors soon and is slated for a grand release in 2027.
