Shah Rukh Khan to play anti-hero role in Pushpa director Sukumar's new film: Report

Earlier, speculations were rife that Shah Rukh Khan was in discussions with Pushpa director Sukumar for a potential collaboration. Now, according to the latest reports by Midday, the two are reportedly in talks for a rural political action drama that aims to showcase SRK in an entirely new avatar.

As per Midday, if the project comes to fruition, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to portray an anti-hero, seamlessly blending his mass appeal with a rugged, raw, and deeply rooted desi character. The film’s narrative is likely to delve into critical social themes such as caste and class oppression, infusing depth and relevance into the otherwise commercial action-packed genre.

Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan has informed filmmakers that he will not be available for any new projects for at least the next two years. This indicates that his rumored collaboration with Sukumar may not commence until 2027 or later.

Earlier, speculation hinted at a dark psychological thriller as the potential project between Sukumar and King Khan. However, the latest reports suggest a shift in direction, with both currently focused on their respective commitments. Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for his much-anticipated film King, set for release in May 2025, followed by Pathaan 2.
