Sanjay Dutt has once again left the internet amused and slightly puzzled with his “kaun” reaction upon hearing Rasha Thadani’s name.
Following the spread of a viral video taken on a rainy evening in Mumbai, the Bollywood star's straightforward and pragmatic demeanour has become the focus of online discussion.
The video, which has received a lot of social media shares, shows the seasoned actor leaving an event and walking to his car while the city is soaked with rain.
Despite the weather, Dutt pauses briefly to acknowledge the paparazzi stationed outside. With his signature concern and no-frills tone, he tells them, “Jaa na re. Ghar jao. Baarish ho rahi hai (Go home, it’s raining)." However, the photographers explain that they’ve been waiting in the downpour to get pictures of him and his wife, Maanayata Dutt, who largely resides in Dubai these days. They add that they’re also there to photograph another celebrity, whom they describe as “nayi ladki" (new girl).
Dutt, appearing genuinely confused, asks, “Kaun?" When they respond with “Rasha", his puzzled expression continues, prompting him to repeat, “Kaun?" Once the paps clarify that it’s “Raveena Tandon ki beti", the actor nods in recognition and responds, “Achha, jaao (Okay, go click her pictures)." Before getting into his car, he takes a moment to check on the photographers once more, asking them warmly, “Khaana peena khaaya kya? (Have you all eaten?)"
The video has since drawn widespread reactions, with fans appreciating Dutt’s caring nature, while also expressing surprise at his unfamiliarity with Rasha Thadani, Raveena Tandon’s daughter, who is currently gaining traction in Bollywood as an emerging talent.
It's understandable why the moment resonated online given their lengthy on-screen history. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon costarred in a number of well-known films. Along with other hits like Kshatriya (1993), Jung (2000), and LOC Kargil (2003), their collaboration in Aatish: Feel the Fire (1994) is still one of their most memorable songs. Additionally, both of them appeared in the 2004 thriller Rakht.
Even though they haven't collaborated recently, their filmmaking legacy lives on, which makes fans find Dutt's unguarded response all the more charming and funny.
