In a bizarre twist, a real-life court drama unfolded in Mumbai on Sunday when two lawyers fought to represent Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, the man accused of stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Shehzad was arrested after allegedly breaking into Khan’s Bandra apartment with the intention to steal, but ended up attacking him with a knife.

The police had been searching for Shehzad for some time, but their hunt ended when they arrested him in Thane. After being taken into custody, Shehzad was presented in a metropolitan magistrate court in Bandra, where the necessary legal procedures began. When asked if he had any complaints against the police, Shehzad said no. Following that, he was moved to the accused box at the back of the courtroom.

However, things took an unexpected turn when two lawyers suddenly competed for the opportunity to represent Shehzad. The first lawyer approached him and was about to get Shehzad’s signature on a legal document known as the ‘vakalatnama,’ which allows a lawyer to represent a client in court. But just before the document was signed, a second lawyer pushed his way forward, claiming the right to represent Shehzad instead. He quickly got Shehzad’s signature on the same document.

This led to confusion in the courtroom about who would actually represent the accused. To resolve the situation, the magistrate suggested that both lawyers could represent Shehzad, and surprisingly, both agreed.

In the end, the court remanded Shehzad to five days of police custody for further investigation. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is recovering from the attack, with doctors confirming that his condition is stable and he will be discharged soon. The dramatic events in the courtroom added an unexpected twist to this high-profile case.
