Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa is currently facing a challenging time in judicial custody at Bengaluru's Central Prison. Arrested in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case on June 11, Darshan has now spent over a month behind bars. As he endures this difficult period, his wife Vijayalakshmi is fervently fighting for his release and providing emotional support through spiritual means.
Vijayalakshmi has been actively involved in a legal battle, demanding that her husband be released from jail. In addition to her legal efforts, she has turned to spirituality for strength and support. Vijayalakshmi recently visited the Kollur temple to perform a special pooja for Darshan. The pooja, known as Nava Chandika Homa, was conducted by offering prayers to Goddess Mookambika, seeking divine intervention for her husband's well-being and release.

The family's dedication to supporting Darshan is evident. Alongside Vijayalakshmi, Darshan's brother Dinkar Thoogudeepa and their son have also been involved in these spiritual efforts. Dinkar Thoogudeepa performed a special pooja to Goddess Chamundeshwari of Mysore for Darshan. These spiritual practices reflect the family's hope and unwavering support for Darshan during this challenging time.

Recently, Vijayalakshmi, accompanied by Dinkar Thoogudeepa and their son, visited the Parappa Agrahara Jail to see Darshan. During this visit, Vijayalakshmi brought holy prasad from the Kollur temple and gave it to Darshan, hoping to provide him with spiritual solace and strength. The visit was not just a familial duty but a heartfelt attempt to keep Darshan's spirits high amid the adversity he faces in jail.
Reports indicate that Darshan's health has been deteriorating in prison. He has been experiencing severe health issues, including significant weight loss and diarrhea, which have been diagnosed as food poisoning by prison doctors. Concerned about his health, Darshan has urged the Karnataka High Court to allow him access to home-cooked food, personal clothing, bedding, cutlery, and books. This request stems from the poor quality of prison food, which he claims is causing his health to decline.
Under Section 30 of the Karnataka Prisons Act, 1963, undertrial prisoners are entitled to receive proper food, clothing, and other necessities, subject to examination by prison authorities. Despite this provision, Darshan's requests for home-cooked food have been denied by prison officers, who have stated that they require a court order to permit such requests. This legal hurdle has added to the challenges faced by Darshan and his family as they navigate this difficult period.
Vijayalakshmi continues to fight a legal battle to secure Darshan's release and ensure his well-being in jail. Her dedication to this cause is unwavering, as she balances legal proceedings with spiritual practices to support her husband. The family's collective efforts highlight their determination to see Darshan freed and healthy.
The Renukaswamy murder case, in which Darshan has been implicated, has been a high-profile case with significant media attention. Numerous individuals have been involved in the case, making it a complex legal battle. Darshan's arrest and subsequent imprisonment have brought intense scrutiny and challenges for his family.
