Amitabh Bachchan pays emotional tribute to 'young talent' Satish Shah after his death, writes "Another of us has passed away"

Veteran comedian and actor Satish Shah died of kidney failure on October 25 at the age of 74, shocking the industry. His co-stars from Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai and a number of other industry celebrities expressed their sorrow over his passing.

However, Amitabh Bachchan has also expressed grief over Satish Shah’s sudden passing on social media on Sunday.

The veteran actor took to his personal blog on Sunday and paid a tribute to Satish Shah.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Another day, another work, another quiet. Another of us has passed away — Satish Shah, a young talent, and has left us at a very young age. And the stars they favour not... to us all... And these times of the grim... it bodes not well to express in normalcy... foreboding us in all at each moment.”

The veteran actor added, “It is in the ease to abide by that age-old wordage... ‘but the show must go on’... and so it does, as does life. Each day an express of an alternate... or wherever the ‘show’ must guide us to... hence... even in distress and glumness, despondency, the face of normalcy and the act of work persists... but no... improper to pursue normalcy...”

Amitabh Bachchan had collaborated with Satish Shah in several films. The duo shared the screen space for the first time in the 1982 film Shakti. Directed by Ramesh Sippy, the crime drama also featured Dilip Kumar, Rakhee Gulzar, Smita Patil, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Amrish Puri in the key roles.

The veteran actor also had a cameo in Satish Shah’s Hero Hiralal.

However, Amitabh Bachchan and Satish Shah later appeared together in the 2008 film Bhoothnath.

Satish Shah’s last rites

Satish Shah passed away due to kidney-related complications on October 25. He was 74.

He was cremated on Monday morning in Mumbai. His last rites were attended by several Bollywood celebrities, including Jackie Shroff, Kunal Kohli, David Dhawan, Naseeruddin Shah, Johnny Lever, Aanjjan Srivastav, Ashoke Pandit and others.

However, the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cast and crew, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajesh Kumar, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghvan, Deven Bhojani, and Jamnadas Majethia also attended the funeral.
