Rupali Ganguly breaks down as she attends Satish Shah’s final rites

Satish Shah’s final rites were held in Mumbai, with family, friends, and co-stars in attendance. On-screen daughter-in-law Rupali Ganguly was seen emotional at the cremation, paying a heartfelt farewell to the veteran actor from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

Actor Satish Shah's final rites were performed on Sunday morning, a day after he died from renal failure in Mumbai. He was 74.

Several celebrities from the film and television industries, including his co-stars from Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, attended the late actor's funeral along with his family and close friends.

Satish Shah's family conducted his final ceremonies at a Bandra crematorium later in the morning.

Rupali Ganguly, who portrayed Satish Shah's character's daughter-in-law in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, also attended the funeral. A paparazzi video is going viral on social media, which shows Rupali breaking down in her car as she drove to the funeral.

However, other Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai actors, including Deven Bhojani, Sumeet Raghavan and Rajesh Kumar, were also spotted at the cremation site. The trio were looking emotional as they bid a final adieu to the veteran actor.

According to his manager, Ramesh Kadatala, Satish Shah died on Saturday afternoon after unexpectedly collapsing during lunch.  The actor received a kidney transplant a few months ago after battling kidney issues for several months.

In the 1980s, Satish Shah's varied roles in the sitcom Ye Jo Hai Zindagi earned him the nickname "Comedy King." He maintained his run in the 1990s and 2000s by starring in series like Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, Ghar Jamai, and Filmi Chakkar.

After starting his film career at the FTII in 1976, Satish Shah gained recognition in 1981 with Kundan Shah's Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. He later starred in some of the most well-known Bollywood films, including Fanaa, Main Hoon Na, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
