A day after the heartbreaking demise of veteran actor Satish Shah, his close friend and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai producer JD Majethia spoke to the media following the funeral, remembering the late actor as an “exceptional personality” whose contribution went far beyond comedy.

The funeral saw an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends, and admirers of the actor who brought countless smiles to Indian audiences through his impeccable timing and unforgettable performances. Addressing the media after the ceremony, JD Majethia shared his deep admiration and affection for Satish Shah, recalling the brilliance and warmth that defined him.

“Satish Shah was a very good artist, the entire world knows this. And he was a very good human being. He was a wizard, he knew everything. He was not just a comedian, he was an exceptional personality,” Majethia said. “What else do we say today? We have bid him farewell now. We were all talking that Satish ji was a person who should be celebrated.”

JD Majethia, who worked closely with Satish Shah on Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, reflected on how the actor’s character Indravadan Sarabhai had become a household name. With his sharp wit and charm, he immortalised the role, making it one of Indian television’s most beloved comic creations.

“Satish Shah jitne popular the, lately Indravadan Sarabhai ke naam se zyada popular the. Aur unka ek parivaar hum hai. Hum unke saath the, saath hain aur saath rahenge. Yahi hamari shraddhanjali hai,” Majethia added.

Earlier, Satish Shah’s co-stars Deven Bhojani, Sumeet Raghvan, and Rupali Ganguly were seen singing the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai theme song beside his pyre — a heartfelt farewell that went viral and moved fans across the country.

Satish Shah, who passed away at 74 due to kidney failure, was known for his versatility across cinema and television. From Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro to Main Hoon Na and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, his legacy is woven into the fabric of Indian entertainment.
